Filmbank Digital Learning Resources (FDLR) Licence
Filmbank now offer a wide range of TV Shows for single title screening by episode or series.
Through our new FDLR Licence, we offer a range of 'issues led' factual programmes which are both entertaining and can be used as a learning and teaching resource. The annual Licence is available per title and allows the organisation to screen the programme/s on multiple occasions in the licensed premises.
There are a number of factual TV shows which have an education/training element. They will generally have an obvious target audience and market as well as being entertaining. They can form part of a training session or lecture or they can be held by the organisation as a reference tool for staff and/or students. Some organisations may wish to build a Digital Resource Library containing a wide range of ‘general/ specific interest programmes’.
We have developed the FDLR Licence to allow multiple screenings on the licensed premises during the licence period (12 months). The FDLR Licence is available for non-commercial screenings (where no ticket price is charged for the screening) in a variety of Non Theatrical venues.

What is the real price of Fashion?
The critically acclaimed and BAFTA-nominated Blood, Sweat and T-Shirtsfollows the journey of six young fashion addicts as they swap their UK lives for the sweat shops and cotton fields of India. The young fashion lovers trade high street shopping for the factories and backstreet workshops of India to learn how the clothes they buy are manufactured.
Living and working with Indian workers, the six young adults sleep alongside their sewing machines, harvest cotton and discover the reality of India’s child labour force producing bargain products for the West. This emotional and insightful journey leads them to question the true price of disposable fashion and its place in modern society.
As the series unfolds these young Brits start to re-evaluate their lives as they learn priceless lessons from their Indian co-workers about life, family values, working as a team and respect for each other.

Is ageing inevitable or just a state of mind?
Based on a pioneering ground breaking Harvard University study, The Young Ones examines the psychological and physiological effects of re-introducing seasoned celebrities to their hey day.
“The Young Ones is a fantastic programme which will provide a focal point for reminiscence and discussion in many care homes - both educational and entertaining and will be viewed and enjoyed by both residents and staff.”
Martin Green, CEO, ECCA and Independent Sector Dementia Champion, Dept of Health
What if it were possible to think yourself young again?
Drawing inspiration from Dr Ellen Langer’s pioneering 1981 Harvard University Counter Clockwise study, The Young Ones seeks to observe the mental and physical impact of re-introducing six well-loved celebrities of the 1970s and 1980s Sylvia Syms, Derek Jameson and Kenneth Kendall agreed to turn back the clock to live, work and eat in a 1975 bubble in an exploration of renewed youth. The group were prohibited from discussing post-1975 events and were required to refer to themselves, their families, and their careers as they were during the Seventies.
Through the mental embodiment of their younger selves, the study aimed to evaluate improvements in psychological and physiological performance. The original ground-breaking 1981 Counter Clockwise study illustrated the power of positive thinking as Dr Langer saw her subjects’ hearing, grip strength and manual dexterity improve. Memory and IQ scores also improved. With their minds actively engaged in living 20 years earlier, their bodies seemed to follow.
The BAFTA nominated series presented by Mariella Frostrup and guided by Dr Michael Mosley and Harvard Professor Dr Ellen Langer is an excellent and intriguing learning resource for those working with the elderly in the care community and those studying Sociology, Pychology and medicine.
